Post Print Sizes
Hi

Just bought a DS40 and wondered why it's not possible to print 6x4, 8x6 and 9x6 from the same paper stock as the width of all of these papers seems to be 6".

If you can set the paper size in the driver, surely this should be possible. I got the holders for 7x5 prints and they are simply wider than the std holder.

Anyone tried this and failed (or succeded)

I am not sure about the DNP (suggest you contact your supplier) but on most printers you just select the print size. This works for most (not all) Mitsubishi Printers and HiTi P510S / 510K models

I think it is also possible on the DNP

The important point is the ribbon size, you can print all the sizes you say from the 9x6 media set but you will use a full 9x6 ribbon panel for each print. If you have the ribbons for 9x6 & 6x4 for example you can leave the paper in and just change the ribbon. It does not make economial sense to print 6x4 on 9x6 ribbon. There is however a nifty feature on the DNP to print 2 6x4 prints and cut correctly on 9x6 media which makes more sense.

9x6 or 8x6 is just a size selection in the driver prefs. I also print the odd 7x5 on the same media and either trim the edges or just slide it into the mount. Same as Mike suggested for 6x4 as I offer one for £8 or two for £10 but for longer runs its better to change media.
