Post Picasa and DNP printers
I had seen the comments about the situation with Picasa when used with the DNP DS40 & 80.

I am prepared to do all I can to get this issue resolved, and as such I contacted DNP yesyterday, a rep there has sent me this comment-

""I get back to you concerning your problem with Picassa and DS printers.

I downloaded the Picassa software version 3.6.0 for Windows XP, I connected DS40 printer and I installed DS Printer driver (V3.1.0).

I tried to print several pictures with Picassa software and it printed well.

Please try to install last DS printer drivers.""

Post Re: Picasa and DNP printers
Mark,

I have used the latest version of Picasa and had no issues, perhaps what is needed is a list of Operating System & version, DNP Driver version, Picasa version - if yours is already listed and you are getting the same results then there is no need to list.

I will add mine later.

Mike

We had the problem when printing from a MAC via picasa, not windows. Has this been resolved?

Thanks for taking the time to try & get this resolved Mark.

+1 on the mac issue
using windows (under vmware) on the mac it was fine.
the problem (in my own experience) was with Picassa 3.6.2 for mac.
Under LR for mac, pS3 for mac and even using preview everything was fine, just picassa letting the side down!

As you said to me previously mark, picassa is not designed for what we do, it just happens to work!

Hi again, I thought I would print & scan an image from the DS40 & picasa so that you can all see what we mean

I used an image with plenty of black- it shows the banding a little better.
Just to clarify, this was-
Mac OS 10.6.3 (snow leopard)
picassa 3.6.2
DS40 running 2.1.1 (fresh driver install before printing)

Hopefully the file has att!

Post Re: Picasa and DNP printers
The issue according to the picasa help forum, see the link below, is that all the Mac printing done in Mac for Picasa is at high quality and not compatible mode. The DNP drivers for Mac would appear therefore not to support high quality mode.

What would be interesting to know is if the windows drivers support high quality mode or they work in compatible mode.

A bit more additional assistance , that I got from DNP today-

Concerning this issue, please try this process to print with PICASA to MAC DS Printer.

- select Full Page (See attached Screen Dump 1.png)

- select DS printer

- in the Page Setup select correct Page settings (See attached Screen Dump 2.png ).

Sorry - these aren't live, will get sorted soon
