Hi Steve
Nice to see you using the forum. I am only at JCT 28 of the M1 so I you need to pop up anytime just drop me a line.
I just wonder if you have installed the 20D drivers on your PC because the 20D is not usb plug and play like the 40D and newer models are.
I have a 20D and a 40D but they are out on loan at the minute so I cannot test it with my darkroom software.

Yep I think Andy's right the 20d requires the Camera USB WIA Driver driver to be installed.

Its a good idea to search out the settings that replace the image on screen with just shot image as its a pain when your displaying a customer their image BINGO its replaced by a new image,

I cant be more specific as My ED machine is at my office...
