Maybe not everyone can have a big successful business, but everyone can have morals mine tell me it's wrong to profit from this society unless it is clear you are a Trader and therefore paying for the priviledge.

Apologies Amanda if I misunderstood, the above only used the word 'profit' which I took as meaning 'to receive remuneration'.

Hi all.

Firstly, I'm not suggesting to anyone that they price fix, just that they go through the Society and be paid by them so that the Society is the one which benefits.

Secondly, I am not questioning the benefits that may or may not come from anyone offering training or their abilitiy to carry out training.

Thirdly, I am not against anyone making money or being paid.

No problem Trudy, I also started that post by saying the above.

No you are most likely exactly right that you are not ready to fly on your own. But that is not to say that you do not have new ideas, enthusiasm etc that could invigorate someone more experienced.

I still think at any age we can listen and learn. Good luck. Where are you based as your profile does not specify?

(sorry i didn't reply sooner)
I'm based in Carlisle at the moment as i am finishing my photography degree, but my folks live in the Hampshire area which is where i'll be going back to until i find my own place and hopefully a job in this field of photography, just need someone to take me under their wing so to speak!

Mark

Are you looking to be mentored or to offer mentoring?

Post Re: Mentoring
Hey all...

As I whizz down the forum here I see quite a few ppl willing to mentor, and thats great! I know that I could certainly use the input and advice.

I suppose my question is .. "What next?" Are we just putting it out there for people to organise themselves? Is there going to be any sort of structure etc?

There are 2 photographers that I have been in contact with here that I'd love to spend a day with...just observing, helping, etc. Should we just go ahead then and ask or is someone collating all this to have a look at how best to use the resources that are obviously available?

I guess I'm just someone who struggles to stay organised as times and I find it helpful to have some structure ;-)

Geoff.

Post Re: Mentoring
Geoff,

we had a lot of replys from people who want to mentor and very few from people that want to be mentored. At present we have allowed people to list themselves in the Trade section and hopefully with time this is something that we can investigate further.

Mike
