Post Doing it differently, Doing it professionally
Any event photographer can register and use the forum, whether you've been photographing events for 20 years or just starting out. We just ask that you use your own name or studio/business name - most important.

To have your details listed on the site there are a few requirements;

1. A link back to http://www.eventphotographersociety.co.uk.

2. An email address, the identity of which can be validated i.e. not gmail, hotmail or yahoo is required.

3. A website, obviously for event photography.

Registering will make further more specialised trade areas of the forum available to you.

The site and the forum will only develop if event photographers want it.

There are 3 important things that will not be tolerated on the forum;

1. Abuse of another member - what you find funny somebody else may find abusive or offensive and much of the site is in the public domain.

2. Advertising whether direct or indirect (except own details). If you wish to advertise contact admin and it will be negotiated. It is one thing discussing something, it is another promoting it.

3. Recruitment of photographers either to a franchise or afranchise style system or recruitment to join new listing/directory services (whether in open forum or via pm). Both constitute advertising and as such should be passed to the administrator to be approved. (Open advertisement of jobs is perfectley acceptable as long as this does not constitute part of a longer term agreement as already detailed.) Contravention of this will lead to immediate removal from the site.

There are many sites contacting people asking if they want a listing at a price and there is no guarantee of how succesfully it will help you, therefore there is no payment asked for and the benefit derived from meeting like minded event photographers should give the greatest benefit. If a listing service is introduced that does have a cost associated there will still be a free listing service on the site.

:cam: Lets get this show on the road. :diff:

Looking forward to the forum and site getting established. We've been doing weddings for some time - but just getting into events.

Admin,
i have tried to send a PM to you relating to this but it won't leave my outbox so apologies if this is off topic...

I am listed as blue in colour according to the membership status, but as far as i am aware, i have met the gold criteria?
Can you please let me know if i am missing something as i have paid up, listed the EPS logo on my site and you have included me in the 'find a photographer' section.

...and do you you know why i cannot PM?

Thanks & Happy New Year.
Jamie

Jamie, if a message is in your outbox it means it's been sent and it's in his inbox, it only goes from your outbox once it's been read. Don't worry I'm sure it'll be sorted soon.
