Smile idiotic company who advertise things they don't have

Last friday i recieved an e-mail from a company ( i will not say their name for legal reasons) advertising studio lighting for 50% off, absolutely brilliant deal ,

    so i bought some i bought 2 x bowens 500 and 2x bowens 250 well what a deal and also a snoot,

so i paid them by pay pal

well what happens today i have a call sorry you can't have the 500's they are gone a mistake was made,

an hour later i have another call the snoot has gone

and just now i've had a call the 250's are gone.

All these products were paid for and receipted last friday with a free delivery entered on them.

You can probably imagine how my reaction has slowed built up through the day. I am fuming! what a stupid company.

why would they do this what would their point be?

and which one of you has managed to get them

"Legal reasons"? They can't touch you for revealing the facts. We'd all like to know.

    am i allowed to say?

I said the truth on another forum and the same company sent the forum a letter to tell them to take the comments down, they didn't say i was lying they just told the forum to take the post down. I don't want to cause a problem for Mike.

Strange as the company looked after me the other week and I couldn't have been happier, item on back order delivered in 4 days and a very competitive price on the item I bought.........however the offer is still running on their site,I did see when I looked as I was tempted to purchase as well, that the Bowens gear was on back order,I would not be at all surprised if your contact simple looked at NIL stock, and maybe inst aware of back order,...... personally I would call them directly, and jump up the chain a few links you may get a better answer to your frustration

just had a look, sems all the heads have in fact been removed from the listing, mainly odds and sods left now......

I've been let down before and should have known better, I tried to go up the chain yesterday but was told there is nothing they can do now the flash heads have gone elswhere, so there is no point complaining!!

    terrible customer service!

I don't see the point in annoying people with this attitude.

when i muck up something i will automatically compensate them ( within reason and as long as they are telling the truth even sometimes when they are lying) it is better than a member of unknown staff saying sorry, its nothing.

Give someone compensation and they'll come back, they know you are genuinely sorry.

Or better still don't do it in the first place.

    just recieved a legal letter,

it says something about a business when they have a legal department!

I have been told that i have to apologise for trying to blackmail them.

please note i have not said who the company is.

I would like to apologise to the company that i didn't mention the name of.

They are a brilliant company, they did not fail to meet the order that i gave them, I am really happy with their service, I am sorry if i tried to inadvertantly black mail them, i thought i was chasing up my order, the staff are all really helpful and the customer service fantastic, i am also very happy that i did not get the product that i ordered. Everything is perfect!

You won't be the first person to be bullied in this way.

Maybe their legal department should speak with their marketing department.

A while back I got a letter from the legal department of a company and when my solicitor looked at it (I was away at the time otherwise it would have been filed in the bin!), not only was it full of errors and didn't make sense it had no legal merit at all. A lot of these types of things are just scare tactics.

i think i got away with it,

thankfully the order wasn't fullfilled and i've had my money back.

Perhaps they should have a PR department.
