Any recommendations of alternatives to Elinchrom Quadra/Ranger.
Love Elinchrom gear and use BXRis for studio work but the prices are a bit salty so looking for a more affordable set up for outdoor work i.e. weddings and portraits.

I tried my elinchrom kit outside but then it started to rain, and i quickly brought it back inside,

don't lastolite do something called d lite

I don't think there is another option (cheaper) only using a speedlights.

Have you tried a phonecall to sam the asian guy who is always in Focus (keeps changing his business name) he always has bits and pieces which he does not put online?

Thanks Nick, I've had a few sugestions from the facebook group such as
iLux (http://www.photomart.co.uk/Catalogue/Studio-Lighting/Mono-Lights/Monoblocs-heads/iLux-Heads/iLUX-600W-WIRELESS-STUDIO-FLASH-HEAD-EL-MOUNT-PLUS-EXTRA-FREE-BATTERY-ILW600E) and its NFlash alternative, Godox (http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Camera_Flash_Witstro_AD180&AD360_Powerfou&Portable_Flash.html) and Genesis (http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/product/calumet-genesis-gf400-portable-flash-system/CF0182/).

I'll be looking into these as I don't want to use speedlights due to power output and recycling times. I know I could use multiple speedlights but to get satisfactory recycling I would need a power pack for each of them and could be just as expensive.

p.s. D-lite is Elinchrom. Lastolite do Lumen8 studio lights or continuous lighting.

What about the Elinchrom RX1 and one of the Lithium Batteries from the Flash Centre 3 standard sockets.

Godox LP800x 300w light does 1200 flashes on full power with no recycle delay so 100heads should go for hours.

Competition for the Duracell bunny!
