Help

Just started to get little white spots and marks on my prints, is this dust on the print head? The manual only goes as far as taking the cassette out and cleaning the platten rollers, which I think i can manage but I can't get any info on cleaning the print head.

Thanks in advance

Hi Peter,

Don't be afraid to clean the head, they are really quite robust.

Use a lint free cloth and lens cleaner, you can be quite vigorous with it.

I'd advise against using canned air as that tends to just blow the dust all over and sometimes you can get propellant shooting out! I do occasionally use the vacuum and a new, clean narrow paint brush if they get really bad inside, usually after a few MX gigs during the dry months as the dust can really build up.

If you are unsure, book your printer in with a manufacturers authorised service provider.

Do make sure you switch the printer off and unplug from the mains before you do any of this type of work.
