Has anyone used one of the Kiam generators and do they work - fleabay has the 1kva for 259 and 459 for a 2kva which considering the tech behind it seems like a steal.

Will be running 3 laptops and 2 printers so hoping the 1 kva would be fine - any thoughts appreciated.

I've never heard of Kiam before. However, you should be able to get away with the 1kva. We run a 27" iMac, 2 printers, additional screens and credit card machine from a 1kva without a problem.

Check out Machine Mart
You can get a Machine Mart branded suitcase inverter 1KVA for about 300. Probably the only difference is that if you do have a problem at least you can walk into any branch of Machine Mart and get them to sort it.

Hi Simon, does that include printing from both printers at once?

Yes. I've done it with the DNP DS40 & DS 80 without a hitch. I also have run at Mitsi 9880 & 3800 together from the genny.

That is great...the DNP printers alone are 2 x 1.69A when printing, (not sure about the Mitsis, they used to be more @ 2.4A each) say 3.4A, 750W @ 220V so you are getting whatever the screens and, Mac etc use on top which is good output!
