Any suggestions for powering engenious units in the field.

As the Engenius units are 24 volt DC you can strap two 12 volt batteries in series to give an unregulated 24 volt supply or I have used a Maplin DC convertor

with a 12 volt battery.

Worked well.

What John said ... I use 2 x 7Ah 12v strapped together in a small old backpack hung on the mast, helps to stabilise the lighting stand/mast on breezy days

What sort of duration are you getting with that.

Hi Mark, as an example, used on Sunday for about 6.5 hrs and were still reading 13v (no load) when we got home. I have used for a 10 hour day before now though not checked voltage at the end , just re-charged

I run mine from a leisure battery through an inverter. Had no problems at all with it running for 10 hours on Sunday.

I just ordered two of these this afternoon from Solwise. They also do a small unit that plugs into your car dashboard and powers one unit which I also bought.

If you want one of these long range outdoor units, 2611P, they are apparently in very short supply and Solwise has a back order for 150 units. Their web site says very low stock so I hope they turn up tomorrow.
